No Sew Heart Satin Hair Clip Tutorial

step 1 – Cut Out the Satin Pattern Pieces

Cutting satin pattern pieces for the heart hair clip using fleecefun's free template and tutorial.

Print up the pattern (I like to print this pattern on card stock), cut out and trace hearts onto cloth, cut out cloth.

step 2 – Burn, baby. burn!

burning the edges of the fabric

Light the candle (be sure to have adult supervision) carefully burn the edges of the fabric – more if you want a vintage look, less if you just want it to be nicely finished. (This takes some practice so be patient, but it all comes together in the end – mess ups are nearly impossible to see).

The fabric will get hot and can light on fire – be careful (by the way you do this at your own risk – I’ve singed fingers doing this.)

step 3 – Layer and Arrange Your Satin Hearts for the Perfect Look

Satin hearts stacked and styled for a heart hair clip following fleecefun's guide.

After you have singed all the edges, stack the hearts inside each other .

step 4 – Glue it all together

Glue applied to satin layers for making a heart-shaped hair clip with fleecefun's instructions.

Glue each heart to secure (you can also sew them together)

step 5 – Add some drama!

putting a jewel in the center

Glue a jewel in the center to cover up the stitches, or just to add some fun drama.

step 6 – Glue clip to the back of your Heart Satin Hair Clip

Adding embellishments to elevate your satin heart hair clip crafted with fleecefun's guide.

You can either use a circle of felt to help glue on the clip or some ribbon.
