Ragged Tassels (no sew) party decor tutorial

This Ragged Tassels (no sew) party decor tutorial is an easy craft.  I love this ragged tassels tutorial. These are so shabby chic and easy to make! There's a video tutorial to show you how to make them step by step. This is great party decor DIY. These tassels won't tear like the tissue ones do. I want to try this!Just a few materials and well placed tears and these tassels can be made in minutes.  Plus because they’re made from fabric they’re sturdier than tissue tassels and can be used over and over again.

For this project you will need:

Fat Quarters ( 1 per tassel)

Clear rubber bands

Scissors

Ribbon or Twine

Video tutorial here, written below:

Step 1

With the fat quarter folded in half, snip a slit along the edge opposite of the fold every 1/2 inch.

Step 2

Tear each slit stopping 2 – 3 inches from the top fold of the fabric.  Tear each tab until all are torn.  If a tag won’t tear easily cut the slit deeper and try again.

Step 3

Unfold the fabric and lay it out flat with right side of fabric down.  Using the cetner that’s not torn, roll it up tightly.  Twist the center  and make a loop for the top, fastening the two side together using a rubber band.

Step 4

Trim the bottom of the streamers to even out the tassel and string on a ribbon or twine.
