Can I confess something to you? I am terrible with dates. It doesn’t matter how many phone reminders, planners, or post its I have. I sometimes completely forget. So today I’m going to show you how to make 3 last minute gifts with the Cricut Joy! So if you’re like me and sometimes get blindsided by a birthday or special occasion, you can easily throw something together no problem.
For this project you will need:
Access to Cricut Design Space
Light weight mat for Cricut Joy
Cricut Joy Insert Cards ( The Princess Sampler is the one I used)
Cricut Joy™ Adhesive-Backed Deluxe Paper ( I used Anna Griffin® Rose)
Cricut Joy™ Smart Iron-On™ Patterned, ( I used Natalie Malan Sunset Blossom)
Blank for Iron on Vinyl ( I used a hat)
3 Last Minute Gifts with a Cricut Joy
Gift 1 – a Beautiful Card
One of the coolest things that the joy does is make lovely cards quickly. Al you need is the special card mat, card and insert.
Simply load the card onto mat by sliding half of it under the clear part and press the front down onto the sticky top of the mat. There are no buttons on the Cricut Joy – Cricut Design Space controls everything. For the Cricut Joy I just pull my phone out of my pocket and use the app.
Once it’s cut I just lift the card up and the mat does most of the weeding! So if I’m really in a hurry I don’t bother cleaning the mat I just move onto the next step.
I place the insert into the corner slits behind the back of the card and – BAM! Instant amazing card for whatever occasion I need.
Gift 2 – Planner Stickers
So I am making a birthday gift for my friend is super organized (unlike yours truly) and loves to use her planner. So I thought it would be fun to make her a few planner stickers. It’s really easy with the cute Adhesive Backed Deluxe Paper. I quickly find a few images I like in Cricut Access and load the Deluxe Paper onto a Light Weight Mat.
Once it’s cut the paper is so easy to weed no special tools are needed. I just use my fingers.
Because that cut so fast I decided to cut another sheet for her! You can never have too many stickers.
Gift 3 – Iron on Vinyl Hat
For the last quick gift I am using some of the Cricut Smart Iron on Vinyl. I love the cute patterns and colors it comes in! The best part about this Vinyl? No Mat needed! Just load it and cut.
I load it shiny side down and make sure I mirror the cute image I found in Cricut Access.
Then I carefully weed my image.
Center it on the hat
and use my Mini EasyPress to iron it on.
And that’s it in less than 20 minutes I’ve made a cute little gift trio for my friend, and she’ll never know that I waited until the last minute to make it.
All thanks to this small but mighty machine!
