Fast Snow Buddy Cupcakes

I confess I love holiday cookie decorating and giving food the final “look” for presentation. snow-buddy-pin That for me is the fun part of baking.  For my husband, he loves the entire process start to finish (and when I say finish I mean clean kitchen).  During the crazy holiday season I love all the cute food craft ideas out there – you know the straight to the fun part of baking!  There are a bunch of fun ideas on this Pinterest board for food crafts.

I wanted to come up with a cute cupcake and this fella is it!  With his brown hat, red hair and slightly crooked smile you know this kiddo is having fun!  He’s easy to put together and with his three Hostess desserts – there’s something for every one.

For this project you will need:

Hostess Powdered Donettes

Hostess Red Velvet Cupcakes

Hostess Cupcakes , Chocolate

White dipping chocolate

Black gel icing

all items

Once you have everything gathered it’s time to get started!

12Step 1

Using a knife, cut the tops off both the cupcakes, leaving the swirl in place at the top.  Pro tip: heat the knife in warm water to keep the frosting from cracking.

34Step 2

Using the melted chocolate spread some on one side of the cupcake and “adhere” to cupcakes together as shown.

56Step 3

Cut 1/3 off the Donette. using chocolate attach to top of brown cupcake

7Step 4

Draw on face using gel.
