Today is all about the wonders and adventures of Space: The Final Fron…. sorry my nerd is showing. Today you’re little astronauts will be training for their space mission! Will your kids have the “Right Stuff’ to make it into space?
Up and Dress: Greet your astronauts in training. Tell them that they are going to be prepping for their first space mission and they are a crew.
Breakfast: Encourage them to eat up training starts soon
Morning Physical Activity: Time for your cadets to prove that they are physically fit enough to go into space. Haven them prove their worth at the local playground with the following suggested training games:
Space Station: Can they get from one end of the playground to the other without touching the ground? Points for creativity!
Space Walk have the kids pretend to walk like there is low gravity
Mission Control: Whisper a detailed message to once child and have them deliver it to another, and see how much of the message stays in tact!
Afternoon Physical Activity: Did you know that astronauts train in a giant tank of water? It call the NBL (Neutral Buoyancy Lab – only NASA could come up with a scientific name for a giant swimming pool). So it’s time for you own astronauts to do some training! Take them to the local pool for final training for their mission.
Afternoon Craft: Time to go into space ! Using the free space ship printables (coming later this week) have the kids build their own spaceship!
Nap/ quiet time: Naps for little cadets, movie for the bigger ones try ‘Space Camp” or “Zathura”
Afternoon free play: More space missions in the spaceship.
