As a Guest Designer, your pattern is featured in the Maker’s Studio for 90 days. During that time, our members can access it as part of their membership, and you earn a flat fee — no strings attached.

You retain all rights to your design and can continue selling it on your Etsy shop, website, or anywhere else. This is simply a new way to reach a fresh audience and make passive income from a pattern you’ve already created.

We love patterns that can fit a range of makers — whether that’s baby through adult or XS to 3XL. Offering multiple sizes increases the usability and appeal of your pattern inside the Studio. For bag, quilt and home decor patterns, grading isn’t required.

Our members are looking for reliable, polished patterns that are easy to follow. Your pattern should include clean formatting, step-by-step written instructions, and labeled pattern pieces. You don’t need to over-design your files — just make sure it’s clear, complete, and usable by confident beginners through experienced sewists.

If you’ve already created a video tutorial that walks through the construction of your pattern, that’s a huge bonus! Including a video increases member confidence. The video doesn’t have to be fancy — just clear visuals, audible instructions, and a helpful pace.

I’m Angel Hickman Peterson — sewing educator, pattern designer, and the creator of FleeceFun.com. Since 2011, I’ve been sharing free sewing patterns, tutorials, and video content with a global community of makers. I believe creativity should be accessible, practical, and beautiful — and that’s the spirit behind the Maker’s Studio. As a mom and small business owner based in Utah, I know the value of great design and the power of community. That’s why I created this space — to support sewists and to spotlight designers like you in a meaningful, sustainable way.

FAQ’s for Designers

Yes, those who have an active membership will be able to download and save your files.

Not at all. You retain full ownership and copyright of your pattern. We’re simply licensing it for 90 days to feature inside the Maker’s Studio. After that, we remove the files from the membership platform.

Your files are deleted from our service, and no one will have access to them after that.

You’ll need to send:
The pattern file (PDF, layered if available)
Instruction sheet or booklet (PDF)

Size chart for your pattern house
Promotional images (flat lays, model shots, etc.)
Your designer name, photo, and a short bio
Optionally, if you have a video tutorial or projector/SVG files, we can include those too.

You’ll receive a flat fee for each featured pattern. Payment is issued via PayPal once all required materials (pattern files, images, bio, etc.) have been submitted and approved.

Right now our platform doesn’t allow us to track that. Hence the flat fee. But this way you are guaranteed money whether the pattern is popular or not.

We will request specific patterns that we think will round out our current collection nicely, that way there is little overlap and allows your pattern to stand out.

Absolutely! You’re free to continue selling the pattern on Etsy, your website, or any other platform. There’s no exclusivity — this is meant to be an additional revenue stream, not a replacement.

We’re open to a variety — garments, accessories, home decor, kids’ patterns, and more. What matters most is that the pattern is well-designed, clearly written, and easy to use. Bonus points for multiple sizes and video walkthroughs.
