Knit Joggers Pants for 18″ Doll Free Pattern

This Knit Joggers Pants for 18″ Doll Free Pattern tutorial is the perfect for your child’s American Girl Doll.

This sewing project makes a great staple for dolly’s wardrobe. Materials

jersey knit with minimum 30% stretch

9″ of elastic 1/2″ wide

Cut out the following: 

2 legs, mirror images

2 cuffs

Nothing is more comfortable than a pair of cozy stretchy knit joggers! I’ve put together this easy pattern so that you can sew a pair your 18″ doll. They only have 2 pattern pieces and are a super quick sew!

These joggers are a perfect project for your scraps since they use such little fabric. I’ve used some left over cotton lycra in grey melange, but you can use any knit fabric that has at least 30% stretch. A light weight fleece would be great for lounge style pants or use crushed velvet for a dressier look!

Knit Joggers Pants for 18″ Doll Free Pattern Tutorial

Sew

Seam allowances are 1/4″.

Print the free sewing pattern. Cut two of the Knit Joggers Pants for 18″ Doll Free Pattern. With right sides facing, sew front and back crotch seams.

Arrange joggers so that inseam is lined up, right sides facing. Stitch in one continuous seam.

Fold cuff in half so that non-notched edges meet, right sides facing. Stitch.

Fold in half again so that raw edges meet and right side of fabric faces out.

Sew cuff to leg, right sides facing, aligning seam on cuff and leg.

Cut a piece of 1/2″ wide elastic 9″ long. Overlap ends by 1/4″ and zigzag to secure.

Zigzag or serge elastic to the wrong side of waist. You will need to stretch the elastic to fit.

Flip the elastic down and zigzag in place.

I like to add a little piece of folded ribbon as a tag so that it is easy to tell apart the front and the back.  And that ends the Knit Joggers Pants for 18″ Doll Free Pattern Tutoiral.
