I just made this the night before Halloween, for my darling teenager who changed their mind about their costume 2 days before. Assembling the pattern probably took longer than anything else! From cutting out the fabric to having the completed cloak only took me 2 hours! I absolutely love the hood! I used black fleece and used minky for the interior of the hood, it is so warm and soft! Perfect for a stormy Halloween in the PNW! Considering just using the hood pattern and adding it to a coat of my own! Thank you so much!

We purchased this pattern from your etsy store and my daughter has successfully sewed the cloak. We are having a hard time figuring out the leather ties. Both your video and your picture instructions seem to not give much detail for that step, Could you offer any advice or tips? How exactly did you attach the leather?
Thank you!

I'm really enjoying working on the LONG HOODED CLOAK PATTERN. Your post is so detailed and helpful on the whole process of making it from making the hood itself to the cape. Since you said it will be much easier if I printed the sewing patterns with wide format printer, I went ahead and had it printed at Fedex Office. Thanks for being so helpful!

In reply to Kristin Marie Hegedus.

Bit late to the party - but I live in Australia, and our standard paper size is A4, as it is in a number of other places round the world.
A4 is narrower than Letter, and documents opening in A4 fit to the width of the screen - meaning the cloak pattern would display as quite a bit smaller over an entire pattern.
For American patterns, open the document with the size set to Letter, transfer the pages to a word document, and then change the size to A4.
It's a bit of mucking around, but when I finally realised what the problem was and revisited the downloaded patterns that I couldn't make work, it was such a revelation!
