Before I begin sewing items for my little boy I need to have the nursery prepped. Last week I showed you the color it started out as. This week I’m showing you the paint color I chose and the stencil I did on the accent wall. First we painted the room a nice neutral color (Sherwin Williams Kilim Beige). Then I got started on my accent wall.
I fell in love with Cutting Edge Stencils and used one of their designs in my office. I found this stencil and knew I had to have it for my nursery! The stencil I used was Birch Forest – you can find it here. A couple tips that I’ve learned with these stencils. Last time I used a stencil I used a latex paint and it really built up on the stencil and was impossible to clean off. This time I stuck with a straight up acrylic paint and it worked much better. I could easily clean off the stencil and the paint didn’t build up nearly as fast. The only downside it that it took really two coats of paint to get the color I wanted.
