I confess that I am not an organized person. Ok I am pretty much an UNorganized person. =) So I have to try extra heard to make things nice and tidy. One way to do that is to make things pretty. By making things pretty however is the spoonful of sugar that makes the organization medicine go down. By making things look better – it gives me incentive to keep things organized.
One of the disorganized spots in my house was my little girls’ closet. It was impossible for anyone (including myself ) to find anything in there! So it was one of the first places I attacked. I got a bunch of small basket from the dollar store ( perfect for little clothing) and some small hangers (also at the dollar store).
We’ve converted our changing table into a storage shelf in the closet, but as you can see clothes were just getting tossed around. So I sorted the clothing and designated a shelf for my eldest and one for my youngest. I then folded and sorted clothes into basket and hung up all of the shirts (again one side for one girl the other side for the other daughter). I found that hanging the shirts are best so my little girls can easily pick a shirt with out having to dig through a whole basket.
My little girls had fun helping me out. Now there closet is cute and I can find their clothes. More importantly other people can find their clothes ( grandma’s babysitters, etc.) And my girls are good at helping to put away items too. Now that’s pretty organized!
