Little boys seem to destroy (and grow out of!) clothes faster than I can buy or make them, but these simple shorts will give you the upper hand!
They are a simple elastic waist shorts sewn out of knit fabric. I used some cotton sweatershirt fleece, but you can also use interlock, jersey knit or french terry. They would also make a great upcycle project out of old sweatshirts or tees!
The elastic waist makes it easy for toddlers to dress themselves. My little guy potty trained in this past week since I sewed them up (so they are a bit big without a diaper to hold them up, oops) and he loved not having to fuss with buttons and zippers.
While I’ve left mine plain, you can easily embellish them with simple patch pockets, applique, or ribbon. I can sew a pair up in under 20 minutes, so take an evening and sew up a few pairs!
