I love quick sews, and this skirt is one of my fastest projects yet! It has a classic A-line shape that ends right at the knee. The waistband is a wide piece of elastic, so no closures are necessary. With no pattern pieces to print, you can be sewing in minutes! I’ve included all the measurements and templates you need to sew it in sizes 2T-12 for all the little girls in your life.

Love this DIY sewing tutorial. This simple skirt for girls tutorial is easy to make and comfortable for your little lady! Plus there are measurements for sizes 2t to 12!

Stripes are super fun for spring and summer, but can be tricky to sew properly, so I’ve also included lots of tips on how to achieve a professional look. This particular pink and white stripe is a stretch cotton sateen, but the pattern will also work with any medium weight stretch woven (stretch twill, corduroy, denim, etc) or a medium weight knit (ponte knit, french terry, sweatshirt fleece, etc).

  1. Thanks so much for this cute and easy pattern Jess. I used it to make a grey skirt for my daughter’s Hermione costume. Your post was perfectly timed! All the best, Tracey
