Fall Cape for Girls

If you’ve always wanted to sew outwear, but were intimidated by the process, a cape is a great place to start! This quick project is even suitable for beginner sewists. The classic shape of this cape is sewn from a complete circle, so it is nice and full; perfect for twirling!95untitled-40

I’ve included a generous hood to keep your little girl nice and warm. The cape is fully lined, so it is perfect for cool fall days. Fully lined also means no hemming! I choose to close the cape with plastic snaps, but you can also use buttons if you wish.

While this cape is a trendy fall accessory, the pattern will also work perfectly as a costume for your Little Red Riding Hood or other historic dress up. Since capes are quite easy to fit, this pattern is ‘one size fits most’ for girls ages 4-8.

  1. I made this for my niece and this kid is so much in love with her cape. She chose purple for outside and dark pink for inside. She even wants to wear it in this cold winter weather LOL Thanks for the pattern and instructions.
