Fall Cardigan for Girls

Cooler fall weather means layers, and this easy to sew fall cardigan is a perfect layering piece. With only 4 pieces, it can be sewn in under an hour and is suitable for even beginning sewists.
I sewed this example from a poly/wool blend sweater knit, but you can use any heavier weight knit: fleece, sweatshirt fleece, ponte, french terry, scuba, etc.
The sleeves are elbow length and are finished with bands. The front also is finished with a band and the cardigan ends just past the hip. You can use all one fabric, or choose to do the bands out of a contrast fabric. Sizes 2-7 are included in this free pattern.
