This Super Easy Unicorn Poke Cake Recipe is colorful, quick and the perfect addition to any party!  This Super Easy Unicorn Poke Cake Recipe is perfect for a fast fun ( but impressive looking ) treat! Easy to follow instructions make this cake a party winner.I love it when desserts are fast and impressive.  There’s nothing from scratch it’s all easy to use boxed mixes so you can throw it together and have more time for other things (like sewing!). 

Elegant in it’s look you’ll love the pop of color this cake gives once you cut into it. While putting it together is fast just make sure you allow enough time for the cake to cool and set!

This Super Easy Unicorn Poke Cake Recipe is perfect for a fast fun ( but impressive looking ) treat! Easy to follow instructions make this cake a party winner.

Super Easy Unicorn Poke Cake Recipe

Step 1 – Prep

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and prepare a
9×13 inch baking pan with a light coating of cooking
spray. Set aside.

Step 2 – Make the Cake Mix

In a large bowl, combine cake mix, water, vegetable oil and eggs. Mix until thoroughly combined.

Step 3 –  Bake the Cake


Pour batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Step 4 – Poke the Unicorn Poke Cake


 Allow the cake to cool, then using the handle of a wooden spoon poke holes over each inch of the cake. Set aside.

Step 5 – Make the Amazing Color

5. In three small bowls, combine each jello package with 1 cup boiling water. Whisk together until fully combined.

Step 6 – Make it Unicorn Colors

Use a Tablespoon to pour jello mixture into the holes in cake, alternating colors according to preference until each hole has been filled. Do not use all the jello. Over filling the holes will saturate the cake and ruin the fun color lines – it can also make your cake stogey. 

Step 7 – Let the Unicorn Poke Cake Set and Finish

Place the cake into the refrigerator and let it cool for 2 hours. If desired, color the whipped topping and spread over the cooled cake and top with sprinkles as desired before serving.
Handy Tip:  You will have lots of jello leftover, so be sure to prepare a glass pan for some jello jigglers!

Ingredients

  • 1 box While Cake Mix
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
  • 3 whole Eggs
  • 4 Cups Boiling water, divided
  • 1 3 oz Package strawberry jello mix
  • 1 3 oz Package grape jello mix
  • 1 3 oz Package blue raspberry jello mix
  • 1 8 oz package package of Cool Whip, whipped

    topping

  • Food coloring , and sprinkles optional
