It’s finally here!  The day where I get to reveal my newly remodeled craft room and sewing room.  It’s been  quite a project to get this space how I want it to be, but now it’s ready to go, just waiting for me to create in.  So I’m sharing my Craft Room Ideas and giving you the final reveal of my new space! You'll love these Craft Room Ideas and the beautiful pictures of this craft room makeover. She takes it from dark and cluttered to airy and wow! #craftroom #craftroomorganization #craftroomdesign #craftroomideas Just a quick little recap of what this space used to look like:

When I first moved in it was green, REALLY green.

So with the help of my parents ( I was preggers at the time)

I painted over the green and made my space red,

REALLY red.

After a few years of wear and tear I realized how yucky the carpet had gotten and decided that it was time to rip that grossness out of my studio.

But before I could get my dream makeover I had to organize my space (no cheating!).

Once that was done I needed to decide on the colors I wanted my studio to be (goodbye red and your not so flattering color cast).  Then I had to pick the furniture to make the space workable, but not overwhelming (no more massive shelving for me).  After that I got to finally decorate my space with some fun crafts (this is after all what I do!).  Now I’m ready to share with you the final result of all my hard work! You'll love these Craft Room Ideas and the beautiful pictures of this craft room makeover. She takes it from dark and cluttered to airy and wow! Are you ready?!

Craft Room Ideas:

So much better!  Let me take you on a little tour!

Idea # 1 – Keep the craft room pretty

The amoire opens up to reveal my computer.  It’s got shelves, storage and closes up to make thing tidy. Keeping my ugly computer/office work hidden away. Makes the space feel much more tidy and serene. I love how functional this thing is – you can see it’s full makeover here.  The short version chalk paint and the classifieds are my friends.

Near it is my craft tower that is perfect for all of my Cricut items. I love how handy this thing is and how it’s a cute way to display items. I modified it a bit so I could easily store my mats. It’s a great way to store tools, but still keep everything looking nice.

Idea #2 – Invest in key furniture

You'll love these Craft Room Ideas and the beautiful pictures of this craft room makeover. She takes it from dark and cluttered to airy and wow!

This  craft table is my dream piece of furniture. I lusted after it for a LONG time and I love how it fits perfectly into this space, and how functional it is. I love that it’s big, and counter height.  It has storage on the ends and is perfect for all the different projects that I like to do.

That little basket underneath?  It’s full of toys for my little baby boy to play with.  He likes to play under my table!

Idea #3 – Make it functional for you

The wall across from the table is what I look at when I film.

So I wanted it to have some inspirational quotes on it and family pictures.

The shelving on the opposite wall of the craft room is purely decorative.  It’s designed so I can easily switch out the decor for filming and for seasons. You can learn more about the decor here.

I have to say I really love having a more open/ streamlined space.  You'll love these Craft Room Ideas and the beautiful pictures of this craft room makeover. She takes it from dark and cluttered to airy and wow! My old studio had way too much furniture in it and made it feel claustrophobic.  I love coming into this space to create.  It’s wonderful that it’s organized and that It’s clean.  And I intend to keep it that way!  What is your dream craft sewing room?  Let me know in the comments below!

It can be hard to displace your room, but it’s totally worth it in the end.

It looks really nice! Love the brightness the white brought in. I unfortunately have way more fabric to store, but just looking at your new revised space makes me want to give my room another try. thanks for the inspiration!

Wow! I’m so impressed with how it all turned out. Thanks for sharing the results of all your hard work. It makes me want to redo my sewing room! Love all the lovely touches you included. The shelving on the walls really added to the overall look as well. I think I need to go shopping for shelves now. Thanks again for sharing!

I am in awe of your studio space. And I am thrilled for you! I think I am most in love with that table. With my back issues, I can no longer consider cutting out pattern pieces on the floor to be an acceptable plan. That table makes me swoon.

Congratulations, you are so deserving of a wonderful place. Enjoy! 😊😊😊😊❤️❤️❤️❤️

Where do you store your machine when not in use? Also do you always stand while sewing? A baby in a craft room seems dangerous with pins and needles.

      Hi Peg,
I have a tall chair to sit in while sewing. Because I replaced the floors with laminate, if a pin drops it’s easy to find. I regularly sweep and vacuum my space so it’s a non issue. The tall table makes it perfect to keep things out of baby’s reach. I have a large closet so my machine goes in there when not in use.

You have done an amazing job. I love that you include your son in your daily doings. My grandchildren have grown up in a box of fabric – different textures, colours, sizes. As they have gotten older they have started creating with those scraps and had loads and loads of fun. My 9 year old granddaughter now has her own machine and attends sewing classes!

Here’s wishing you hours and hours of creative fun in your new space. Many blessings from Sunny South Africa.

I confess I love having my own room to create in,and to close the door on to keep little from getting into my projects!

Your ‘new’ space turned out wonderful. It’s so important to refresh your creative spaces once in a while. REDOING takes DOING, but so worth it when you can find your stuff, work on your stuff in a beautiful environment. JOB WELL DONE!

Your space is pretty close to my dreams space. Do you sew at your table standing up?

I have a tall stool that I use. But I love that the table is counter height and that I stand at it most of the time.
