Softshell fleece quickly becoming popular in store bought and handmade winter wear. It is completely waterproof, slightly stretchy, and has a nice soft backing. I created this doll jacket with softshell fleece in mind, but it can also be sewn with regular fleece, cotton sweater fleece, french terry, or any other heavier weight knit.
The coat features a flared skirt and front snap closure. The princess seams are topstitched and give the coat a dressy feel. I’ve also added a hood (although my doll has too much hair for it to fit easily!).
The coat is accessorized with a ribbon fleece hat, another great free pattern you can find on this site!
