I love this back to school wreath tutorial. I also love that I can find all the items to make this at the dollar store. Such a great back to school idea for decorating. Wonderful DIY.

This wonderful back school wreath tutorial uses items that you can easily find at the dollar store.  It’s a fun way to dress up your mantle or door to welcome in the school year.

For this project you will need:

Fleece Fun’s free printable (available below)

Scissors

twine, or ribbon

hot glue gun and glue sticks

4 12 inch rulers

pencil sharpener

Box of pencils

PVC pipe cutter

Back to School Wreath  Video Tutorial:

Step 1 – Cut out pieces

Print up the banner.  Cut out. Fold the flags in half.  String on the twine and glue together. Set banner aside.

Step 2 – Make ruler wreath

Set each ruler to make a square. Over lap the ends and  glue together using a glue gun. Set aside.

Step 3 – Make pencil shapes

Using pencil sharpener sharpen all the pencils.  Using the PVC pipe cutter cut pencils in half.  sharpen again and cut in half again.  Using the glue gun, glue pencil peices into and “x” shape.  From there add pencils to make it look like the photo.

Step 4 – Bring it all together

Tie the banner onto the ruler wreath and glue on the pencil decorations.  You’re finished!
