I love this sweet and easy to sew baby bib. This is a great diy gift idea for a mom to be. I love idea of soft washable bibs!

This muslin baby bib pattern and tutoiral is perfect for making a soft and washable bib for your little cutie. The simple pattern is easy to make – youcan make several in one sitting. This bib makes a great gift.

I love this sweet and easy to sew baby bib. This is a great diy gift idea for a mom to be. I love idea of soft washable bibs!Materials

1/4 yard of muslin fabric. You can recycle a receiving blanket or buy it by the yard. Any other light to medium weight woven fabric will also work

1 yard of double fold bias tape. I used narrow, but you can also use wide (it is a bit easier to use).

1 set of snaps or 1″ of velcro

Cut

Cut two bib pieces (mirror images).

Sew

1

75untitled-4Pin both bib pieces with wrong sides facing. Cut out a small scrap of fabric and sandwich it between the two layers at the two snap markings. This extra layer is not necessary if you are using velcro but is needed to prevent snaps from pulling through the fabric.

2

75untitled-5Sew around the edges 1/8″ from the raw edge.

3

75untitled-6Because muslin is wrinkly and stretchy, you may have some parts that are no longer even. That is ok, just trim close to your stitching line. This will make it easier to apply the bias tape. If you want a super easy project, you can leave the edges raw and be finished! The stitching will keep the fabric from fraying.

4

75untitled-7To apply the bias tape, sandwich the raw edge of the bib between the tape. Some people like to pin, but I prefer to just hold it as I sew. Begin at the sharp corner near the snap placement.

75untitled-9Bias tape can be tricky to sew for beginners. Take your time and check often to be sure you are catching the back side.

(Keeping it real…I missed a spot so I had to go back and unpick it and resew!)

5

75untitled-11Leave a little tail when you get to the end.

6

75untitled-13Flip it towards the back and secure with some stitches.

7

75untitled-14Add a snap or sew on some velcro.
