Doll Boutique Style Pants Tutorial
Step 1 – Cut out the pattern
Print up pattern (you can find the assembly instructions here).

Cut out two pant pieces and two ruffle pieces.
Step 2 – Begin with the bottom ruffle
There is no need to finish the edge if you are using fleece or jersey knit.

On one side of the ruffle piece, baste along the top edge. Gather the ruffle and pin it to the bottom of the main (bottom portion) pant piece. Repeat for the other pant leg.
Step 3 – Begin to sew The Doll Boutique Style Pants
With right sides together and using a .25 inch seam allowance, sew the ruffle to the main pant piece. Unfold.

Then fold the entire pant leg in half and sew from the point just before the pant curves inward. Sew each pant leg using a .25 inch seam allowance.
Step 4 – Sew the pant legs together
Turn one pant leg right side out and stuff it down into the inside out pant leg. Line up the seams and pin them together.

Sew using a .25 inch seam allowance. Sew additional reinforcement in the crotch area if desired.
Confused? See the video above.
Step 5- Finishing touches of Doll Pants
Turn the waistband down .5 inches. Pin. Using a medium zigzag stitch, sew along the edge of the waist, starting at a seam and stopping 2 inches short of completing the seam.

Using a safety pin pinned to one end of the elastic, thread the elastic through the waistband (taking care to keep the other end exposed). Sew the elastic ends together. Sew the opening closed. Trim threads and voila!
