Last week I gave you tips on how to sew with fur. This week I’m bringing you a tutorial on how you can make a beautiful and I must say luxurious fur pillow for your home. It’s easier than think!
I have a love hate relationship with faux fur. Once an item is completed using the material, it’s gorgeous. But I’ll be finding stray fur bits around my sewing studio for weeks. It’s a messy price to pay, but oh so worth it.
This new video series shows you how to make a simple envelope pillow and how to work with faux fur. Like my rag quilt tutorial, this video has several “mini tutorials” that you can watch that will show you how to work with faux fur and offer tips and tricks.
Sponsored by Shannon fabrics, the fur I use in the tutorial is “Siberian Leopard Beige” a thick fur with a high pile that feels amazing. I have some leftover, so I’m sure you’ll be seeing a few more items made from this faux fur.
For the amount of drama faux fur adds to a piece it’s surprisingly easy to work with. Just be sure you have a lint roller nearby!
