Free Printable Kids Explorer Journal

This is the perfect little journal to take out on an adventure for kids explorer! Simple print out from a single piece of 8 1/2 by 11 paper paper, snip and fold for a little journal that is perfect for taking notes and sketching.

Step 1 – Print the Free Template

Start by printing the free PDF file (get that here).

Step 2 – Fold the Page Lengthwise

Fold the printed page in half along the long side, with the pictures facing up. We are going to keep folding before cutting the Kids Explorer Journal template!

Step 3 – Make the Second Fold

Unfold, then fold the page in half widthwise, again keeping the pictures facing up and the blank sides together.

Step 4 – Fold the Top and Bottom Panels

Unfold again. Using the printed lines as your guide, fold the top and bottom quarters of the paper inward widthwise.

Step 5 – Cut the Center Opening

Fold the paper in half widthwise one more time. Use the dashed line as a guide and cut a slit along the fold.

Step 6 – Shape Your Kids Explorer Journal

Unfold the paper, then gently push the center to form a cross shape. The folds will begin to pop into place.

Step 7 – Finish and Fold Into a Booklet

Fold your Kids Explorer Journal into its final shape with the cover facing out — and you’re ready for adventure!
