i love this monster vest idea... and there's a cute hat that can go with it!!! Best of it's FREE - freaking amazing! I'm so making this.

Today I want to show you another way you can turn the versatile Halloween Dress Up Vest into a completely new look by adding arms to the base pattern.  i love this monster vest idea... and there's a cute hat that can go with it!!! Best of it's FREE - freaking amazing! I'm so making this. You can find the cute fleece monster hat patterns that go with this vest here.

First, you will need the base vest pattern, available HERE .

Materials:

1/2 yard of contrast fleece for tummy and arms

small amount of fiber fill batting

Tutorial:

Prepare arms by cutting 2 mirror images of the number of arms you would like (I chose to do 4). With wrong sides together, sew along the two curved edges. Clip the curves, and turn right side out. To give the arms more dimension, lightly stuff with fibre fill batting.

Cut two mirror images of the tummy panel. With wrong side of tummy panel facing right side of front, pin the panel in place 1″ away from the front center edge. Place it so that there is equal amounts of space below and above the tummy piece and that both sides match.

Pin the raw edges of the arms under the sides of the tummy panel as shown.

Stitch around all the edges with a straight stitch or zigzag.

Continue assembling the vest according to the general instructions HERE.
