Step 1 – Get ready to make the Wizard Wand

When picking sticks for the wands, don’t choose anything too perfect! The knobs and imperfections are perfect for giving these witch and wizard wands a rustic feel. But sure to choose sticks with tight bark. This will ensure your creation doesn’t flake apart.

Gather your supplies.  This is a great project for using up leftover bits and bobs in your craft space. Lay out supplies to ensure you have everything needed and prep the craft area with newspaper or crafting paper to protect your work area.

Step 2 – Make the Handle to the DIY Harry Potter Wand

Use the hot glue gun and apply glue on the bottom ⅓ of the stick to make the handle. Apply the glue around the stick several times to add texture and grip.  Be careful not to burn yourself.

Step 3  – Add some more texture

Use the hot glue to apply gems and adjust the shape of the wand if needed.  This can give more character to the magic wand.

Use the hot glue to sculpt your want into new shapes! When you pile up many layers, you can make jewels look deep set or make certain areas wider.

Step 4 – Add color to the Magic Wand

Paint the handle, and the top of the wand in desired color.
