Do I have to use Jersey Knit for this pattern?

Yes for this particular skirt pattern jersey knit is needed. The pattern takes into account the stretch of the fabric so it will hug and hang on the body properly. If you you were to make this free skirt pattern from regular woven cotton it would not have any stretch and would be impossible to put on or feel comfortable wearing.

Where can I find Jersey knit?

Several fabric shops carry a selection, also online is a great place to find the exact type of fabric you’re looking for. Or just upcycle used t-shirts as a thrifty and earth conscious option.
