  • Fabric Grip Mat
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun & Glue
  • Drill & Drill Bit (for the the base). As an alternative you could use a candle stick for the base as well.

Step 1 – Cut Out the Hearts for the Centerpiece

Cut the hearts from the craft felt sheets using the Cricut Maker with the Rotary blade. You should have a nice stack when you’ve cut out all the Valentines Hearts in the different colors. To make assembly easier later, group them by size.

Step 2: Assemble the Base for Your DIY Heart Tree Centerpiece

Curl the cardstock paper into a cone, tight on one end and wide on the other.

Hot glue the cone in place.

Trim the cone to have a mostly flat bottom–it does not have to be perfect because you are going to cover it and hide any imperfection.

Drill a small hole the same diameter of your bamboo skewer in the center of your wood round.

Hot glue the other end of the dowel into the hole in the wood round.

Step 3 – Bring the Heart Tree Valentines Day Table Decorations Together

Working on the bottom row, using alternating colors of the largest size hearts,

gluing a row of hearts unto the base

 hot glue a row of upside-down hearts all the way around the base of the cone.

Moving upward, working in rows of descending size hearts, cover the cone in felt hearts.

For the very top take a few of the smallest heart and flip them up to cover the top of the cone.
