Valentine Decoration Ideas – Rustic Heart Branch DIY

I love to give you easy Valentine Decoration Ideas and this Rustic heart branch, is simple, beautiful, and can be made in different sizes to suit your space! Make the heart jumbo size for a back drop, or cut out the hearts in different colors to suit your holiday décor.
The items you need are simple, odds all you already have most of what you need in your craft stash (or a stray branch in your backyard). By the way you can see all of my Valentine’s day DIY’s here.
YOU WILL NEED:
Supplies
- Large Stick or Branch 18-24 inches long
- Twine
- Pink Cardstock or Scrapbook Paper
- Get the free Cut Files (SVG) here.
Tools
- Hot Glue Gun & Glue
- Scissors
- Cricut Maker
- Light Grip Mat
Valentine Decoration Ideas – Rustic Heart Branch DIY:
Step 1 – Cut out the elements
Load the Free SVG file into design Space. You can leave the hearts the size they are or make them larger to suit your project/branch.
Cut the hearts from the cardstock using your Cricut.
You can keep the hearts for the Decoration Ideas all the same color or cut out other Valentine’s Day colors from cardstock.
Step 2 – Make the Hearts 3D
Place a dot of hot glue on one side of the v in the center of the heart.
Fold the other side over to close the gap and make the heart 3d.
Repeat with all the heart that were cut out.
Step 3 – Prep the Hearts for Hanging
Using the twine, cut varying lengths and hot glue one end on each heart, use just a small drop so it’s not easily seen.
Then tie the other end to the branch. If you want to make your knot more secure you can hot glue this as well.
Cut a 24-inch long length of twine and tie both ends to the branch, on opposite ends, to use it to hang the branch from the wall, door or mantle.
