Yoda Costume Tutorial DIY

You can make this Star Wars inspired Yoda Costume DIY in no time! The free pattern and step by step tutorial will make it possible for your little green Jedi to start talking in backward structured sentences in no time. All you need is some fleece, a few other materials. Fun to dress like Yoda it is. Great costume he makes.
YOU WILL NEED:
- 1/3 yard green fleece for hat
- scrap quilt batting
- 2/3 yard ivory fleece for robe
- Sewing Essentials (pins, scissors, etc.)

Yoda Costume Tutorial DIY:
Step 1 – Sew the Hat
You will need to assemble the free pattern. For instructions on how to assemble the sewing pattern click here.
Cut the pieces for the Yoda Costume hat. You will have 2 hat pieces, and 4 ear pieces (2 left and 2 right) out of green fleece. Also cut 2 ear pieces (1 left and 1 right) out of quilt batting.
With right sides together, place two fleece ear pieces together. Place 1 batting ear piece on top.
Stitch around curved edges.
Clip curves and trim corner.
Turn right side out.
Topstitch curved edges 1/2″ from edge.
Fold curved edges 3/4″ to the middle.
Baste the folds in place.
Repeat with the second ear, being sure you are creating a mirror image.
Sew the top darts in the front and back Yoda Costume hat pieces.
With right sides together, pin the ears to the hat, aligning raw edges.
Pin second hat piece on top, right side down. Stitch along curved edge of hat. Turn right side out.
Fold up bottom edge by 3/4″ and hem.
Step 2 – Yoda costume robe
With right sides together, place two front pieces on back, aligning shoulder and side seams.
Step 3 – Begin to sew Yoda Robe
Stitch shoulder and side seams.
Step 4 – Finish Yoda Robe
Fold neckline and front edge 3/4″ to the wrong side and hem. Repeat with the sleeve edges and bottom hem.
Use a store bought belt to complete the look, or simple cut a long narrow strip of fleece to tie around the waist to keep the robe in place. You just finished the Yoda Costume tutorial.
