This Branch costume trolls DIY has a free pattern to make it easy. With a few basic materials you can make this cute costume inspired by the trolls movie.
Today I am sharing this adorable Branch inspired costume. This costume is an easy sew (and has a little help wit some hot glue) that makes it come together quickly. Honestly the longest part of the tutorial is cutting out the strips of leaves.
My little boy loved this costume because it was really comfortable to wear and easy to move in.
I used a cheap grey t shirt I got at the hobby store and I used Jess’s toddler shorts tutorial (available here) and added a few green squares to it. Add the awesome troll hair and the vest and you have an easy (but awesome looking) costume.
For this project you will need:
Green felt (for amount see below for your size)
hot glue gun and glue sticks
fabric glue
Fleece Fun’s free pattern
Brown shorts (there is a free pattern here)
Troll hair wig ( you can get a tutorial here)

Branch Costume Trolls DIY:
You can find instructions on how to assemble the pattern here.
Step 1 – Cut out the following
On folded fabric cut out the front so you have 2.
Cut out multiple strips of the “leaves” (about 6 to 8 that are 2 inches wide by the width of the cloth.
Pin the pattern to the fabric and cut out the leaves ( I do this with the fabric folded so it’s through several layers.
Step 2 – Sew the vest
Using a quarter inch seam allowance sew the shoulder tops and the sides of the vest.
Step 3 – glue on the rows of leaves
Using the hot glue gun glue the leave rows.
If the row is longer than the vest trim of the edge to match the edge of the vest.
Continue to ad the rows, staggering the leaves for a nice effect. When you get to the arm holes trim the leaves to the edges of the armcye (arm hole).
Trim down any leaves that don’t line up with the vest outline.
To make the leaves stick out a little more brunch up against them to make them flare out.
Step 4 – make the shorts
Cut out some green squares and glue them to the shorts to make them look like the costume. You’re finished with the Branch costume trolls diy!
