No Sew Knight Costume DIY Tutorial

This no sew knight costume DIY tutorial is fast to make and requires zero sewing skill. You can make your little gallant knight armor and a tunic will a few simple materials and time.
My little boy loves this armor costume and it goes great with this easy to make Knight Helmet and Shield. Perfect for Halloween or the dress up box this armor is comfortable and inexpensive to make.
So it’s down to the wire time for Halloween costumes. I’ve got a fun costume idea – it’s fast it’s cute and no sewing is required. This knight costume is perfect for your little guy and is perfect for the costume box long after Halloween is over. I got a little foam sword for him and as you can see he was having a lot of fun with it.
The design uses laces to make the size very adjustable for your kiddo.
The fabric I used for the armor is actually insulated – so it’s perfect for trick or treating on a cold night.
YOU WILL NEED:
- 1 yard of Aluminor Fabric or silver OlyFun material
- Grommet setter and 12 rings (small)
- Cording (4 yards)
- Decorations for the breast plate I used Die cuts for decoration – I used the following:
- 1/2 yard fleece or jersey knit
- Rotary cutter, ruler and mat
- Glue gun and glue sticks
- Olfa circle cutter

Step 1 – cut out the knight’s armour
You will need to assemble the pattern. For instructions on how to assemble the sewing pattern click here.
Trace the template two times on the wrong side of the fabric.
Cut out.
Step 2 – Add the Grommets
Mark 3 dots at the shoulders and on the sides below the arm curve.
Add grommets at the dots. Trace the dots to the other side. Repeat and add grommets.
Step 3 – Glue on the decorations for the No Sew Knight Costume DIY
Lay out the decorations on the front of the armor. Glue on.
Step 4 – Add the side and shoulder ties
Cut cording into yard lengths lace the shoulders and the sides
Adjust the length of the laces to make it the right fit.
Quick Tip
Leave one side unlaced and one side lace for easy dressing.
Step 5 – Make the under tunic
Using the template as guide make the tunic a little wider and longer than the template.
Cut a circle in the center big enough for the head to fit through.
Step 6 – Front and Velcro Closure
Layer the tunic under the armor. Adjust to a perfect fit.
