The dress is sewn from soft jersey knit fabric. I’ve finished off the neckline and arm openings with a simple wrap around binding out of some scraps of contrasting jersey knit. The gathered skirt can be sewn from jersey knit or a light weight cotton woven.

Materials

1/3 yard jersey knit fabric, preferably with lycra

Baby Sundress Tutorial

Step 1 – Cut out the Following

You will need to assemble the free sewing pattern.  For instructions on how to assemble the sewing pattern click here.

Cut the following for the baby dress

Cut 2 on fold of bodice.

Cut 2 skirt panels.

Step 2 – Sew the Following

Use a ball point needle for sewing knits and a stretch stitch on a sewing machine or a serger. Hem and topstitch with a stretch stitch or double needle.
