These DIY Christmas Earrings are easy to put together, can be cost effective, and make a great gift for friends and co workers! The best part is you get handmade gift bragging rights, with something that doesn’t take very long and saves money! This last Christmas my two girls loved making these earrings for friends and family. It was easy for them to make several in one sitting.

YOU WILL NEED:
- Bent Chain nose pliers ( I like to use two of these)
- Jump rings ( the size will depend on the look/ size of the ornament)
- Fish Earring Hooks (in the color of your choice)
- Mini Christmas Tree Ornaments (you can often find them at the dollar store, or in big packs that are inexpensive)
- Mod Podge (a must – I’ll explain why below)
- Foam brush

DIY Christmas Earrings Instructions:
Step 1 – Gather your items to make the DIY Earrings and Prep

Gather your materials.
Since we’re using mini Christmas Tree Ornaments we need to prep them a little before turning them into jewelry.

Since these ornaments aren’t designed to be jewelry the glitter and or paint can easily rub off! To fix this simply Mod Podge over the ornament to seal it and prevent it from rubbing off. Trust me don’t want to skip this step or after one wearing your cute DIY Christmas Earrings will leave glitter everywhere.
Step 2 – Create the DIY Christmas Earrings

Making earrings is easy as long as you understand a few basics when it comes to using jump rings.

To properly open a jump ring, twist it so on side of the ring is towards you and one is away to create a gap. DO NOT pull it apart by stretching the opening apart.

Place your mini ornament on the ring.

To properly close the jump ring, using two pliers twist the ring back….

moving PAST the other side and then back to center – you should hear a small “click” where the two side of the jump ring meet up properly.

The jump ring is now closed. From here you can add more rings to create a longer chain for your DIY Christmas Earrings.

When the chain is the length you desire add the Fish hook earring.
Step 3 – Add any more chains or embellishments to the Earrings

You can keep the earrings simple if you want, or using different lengths of chain add to make a cute cluster of Christmas cheer.
