Step 1 – Cut out the Free Christmas Pillow Pattern
You can find instructions on how to assemble the pattern here.
Cut out 2 of the Christmas tree pillow in the size that you desire.
Step 2 – Begin to Sew!
If you want to add any decorations to the front of your Christmas pillow sew them on first.
With right sides together sew all around the pillow using a .25 seam allowance. Be sure to leave a 2.5 to 3 inch gap in the bottom for turning a stuffing.
Optional: You can sew cording/ piping on like I did in the example. I like to pin and sew the cording on first with a zipper foot, then add the other side of the pillow. Note that cording only works on the large pillow size.
Step 3 – Trim and Turn
Trim the points so they will be nice and sharp, then snip slits (being careful not to cut your stitches) on the inside corners and along the curves to help with the tree shape.
Turn right side out, and carefully push out all of the pillow.
Step 4 – Stuff the Christmas Tree Pillow
Take batting and bit by bit stuff the pillow, work from the top of pillow down to your opening, use the eraser end of a pencil or other blunt object to get the batting all the way to ends of the branches.
Step 5 – Sew the seam shut
Hand sew the seam shut, trim your threads and you’re finished with the Christmas Tree pillow!
