I love this wine bottle gift bag idea. It's so simple but a sweet and classy way to present a gift. I love the handmade gift aspect to it too!

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Hi! I’m Cat and I blog at Mary Martha Mama where I share sewing, crafts, DIY projects, kids’ activities, and my life as a mom. In everything I share I hope to give you a little inspiration and encouragement for your life.

I love this wine bottle gift bag idea. It's so simple but a sweet and classy way to present a gift. I love the handmade gift aspect to it too!Tis the season for holiday parties and I like to bring a gift for my hostess. An easy gift is a bottle of your host’s favorite wine. To dress things up I decided to make a festive wine bottle gift bag and I’m sharing the tutorial with you along with some printable gift tags that you could use with any gift this season.

Supplies:

• 1⁄4 yard of flannel fabric

• ribbon (I used about 24 inches, but if you want a bow use more)

• scissors, thread, sewing machine

Rotary cutter, ruler and mat (available here)

Sewing Essentials (scissors, pins, etc.)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Wine Bottle Gift Bag Handmade Gift

Step 1

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_single_image image=”15859″ img_size=”full”][vc_single_image image=”15860″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]Cut out two rectangles that measure 6.5 X 14 inches and one 4.5 inch circle. Cut the ribbon

into two pieces.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Step 2

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_single_image image=”15861″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]Lay the rectangles one on top of the other. Then stick the ribbons in between the two rectangles of fabric, on the long ends with just a bit of the ribbons sticking out. I placed the ribbons about 4 inches from the top. (The top of your bag will be one of your short sides. )

Pin and sew along the long sides, sewing about 1⁄2 inch from the sides. Stop about an inch from the top.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Step 3

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_single_image image=”15862″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]Pin the circle to the bottom of your rectangle. Sew along the circle, sewing about 1⁄2 inch from the sides.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Step 4 – Attach the Collar

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_single_image image=”15863″ img_size=”full”][vc_single_image image=”15865″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]Now you are going to make the fringe at the top. Look at the very top of the fabric and find a thread sticking out near the end. Pull on the thread. Pull all the way across the top of the fabric to pull the thread out. Keep pulling threads until you like how long your fringe is.

Then repeat for the other rectangle so that the fringe is even on both sides.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Step 5

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_single_image image=”15866″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]Turn the bag right side out. Slip in a wine bottle. Slide a gift tag onto the ribbon, wrap the ribbons around, and tie.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
