St. Patrick’s Day Decor – Easy Upcycle Book Craft

I love this St. Patrick’s Day Décor – Easy Upcycle Book Craft. It’s cute, simple to make and is a great way to upcycle books! This also is a good project to use your HTV scraps on. These cute books that say “Pinch me, Kiss me, Call me Green” will look good on a mantle or display area.

YOU WILL NEED:
Supplies
- White Chalk Paint
- 3 Similarly Sized Old Books (if you don’t have these on hand the dollar store is a good place to find books or see if your local library is getting rid of old books)
- Scraps Green Heat Transfer Vinyl
- Scraps Black Heat Transfer Vinyl
- 3 Green Ribbon Scraps
- Get Fleece Fun’s free SVG here.
Tools
- Cricut Maker or other cutting machine
- Hot Glue Gun & Glue
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
- EasyPress Mini
- Light Grip Mat
- Exacto Knife
- Tape Measure

St. Patrick’s Day Decor – Easy Upcycle Book Craft Instructions:
Step 1 – Prep the Books

Paint the exterior of each book. Allow paint to dry completely.
Step 2 – Cut out the HTV
Download the cut file for the clover and lettering.
Upload the cut file to Design Space.
Measure the height of the spine of your thinnest book and adjust the size of the lettering to fit on the spine of the book.
Measure the height of the three books stacked together and adjust the size of the shamrock to fit on all three spines.
Tell Design Space to “Make It”.
Load the green vinyl onto the mat and into the machine to cut the clover.

Load the black vinyl onto the mat and into the machine to cut the lettering.

Weed the designs of the shamrock

and lettering.
Step 3 – Apply the St. Patrick’s decor letting

With the EasyPress Mini, affix the shamrock to the spines of all 3 books, in the center left.

With the exacto knife, cut the shamrock between the spines

and press it around the edge.

Figure out the placement of each of the phrases on the three books.

With the EasyPress Mini, affix the lettering to the right side of the book spines,

centered and one line on each spine.
Step 4 – Finish off the St. Patrick’s Upcycle decor

Hot glue the three books together.

Hot glue the widest ribbon you have to the bottom of the book stack and wrap it around the books, on the left side.

Affix the second widest ribbon on top of that and then the thinnest on top of that.

That’s it you just finished the St. Patrick’s Day Décor – Easy Upcycle Book Craft!
