Felt Ornament Pattern (Free) Adorable Reindeer DIY Instructions:
Step 1 – Cut Out the Pieces to the Felt Ornament Pattern
You can cut out the ornament manually using the FREE PDF pattern or using the FREE SVG file.
Since I HATE fussy cutting I’m opting to use my Cricut Maker.
Cut out the base of the felt Reindeer Ornament from white.
Next cut out the horns and top of the nose from dark brown felt.
Cut out the ear tops from dark brown as well.
Cut out the bottom ears and nose piece from light brown felt.
Cut out the holly leaves in two different green colors, the black (or red) nose, holly berries in pink and red. Finally cut out the inner ears and 1 berry from light pink.
From the black HTV cut out the eyes.
Weed the vinyl.
Step 2 – Make the Face to the Reindeer Tree Ornament
Now that all of the pieces are cut out. We need to start to make the very bottom of the face.
Start with the white base. Lay down the strip of HTV eyes, then place the light brown felt. Adjust the placement of the eyes as needed.
Remove the light brown felt and iron the eyes into place.
Add some blush to the cheeks with a brush. This step is optional but looks really cute. Use your fingers to blend the blush a little.
Step 3 – Glue the Felt Christmas Tree Ornament Together
Time to build the Felt Reindeer Ornament from the base up. CAUTION: be careful it’s NOT symmetrical so make sure you are adding glue to the correct side of the felt piece before you start gluing things down.
I prefer to use tacky glue as it looks nice and is easy to use. Hot glue tends to make things look lumpy.
Starting with the dark brown antlers on the wrong side apply little dots of glue all around the piece. Glue to the ornament.
Now it’s time to add the light brown ear and nose.
Add glue to the wrong side and glue into place.
Now add the dark brown center nose piece on top of the light brown.
Now it’s time to add the nose.
Now let’s add the pink inner to the felt deer ornament. Maker sure that they’re a little sliver of white between the light brown and the pink inner ear.
Then add the dark brown tops to the ears.
Finally glue on the holly leaves and berries to the reindeer.
I’ve found that it’s easy just to place the ornaments on the tree, but you can add a bit of twine to either side of the antlers to hang.
That’s it! You just completed the Felt Ornament Pattern (Free) Adorable Reindeer DIY.
